Melissa Galeria Dual Art Exhibition of the S/S 18 Mapping Collection

New York Fashion Week not only showcases new seasons of collections, runway shows and presentations. The Melissa Galleria in Soho New York held a private viewing of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection that also was a dual art exhibition of mmmmmBillboard by Rachel Rossin and Danaus Plexippus by Cecilia Salama. The artwork displayed through the shoes had a Aztec theme and offered several different sandal silhouettes. Surprised mostly by the rain boots as Melissa Shoes are known for their jelly like sandals and flats but the rich oxblood color was perfect for these rain boots. Clarks Spring/Summer 2018 Preview

Growing up in a West Indian family with a father from Jamaica, he wore Wallabee Clarks all the time. For me twenty years later, it’s great to see how the brand has evolved and remained a household name in fashion. As we embark upon Fall it’s great to step into some Spring/Summer 2018 previews to see the seasons to come and wish the winter away fast. Clarks as a brand has grown in to a mega fashion show company to be reckoned with. From Women’s dress, to boots to casual footwear, the update on the modern Wallabee and the sneakers were a highlight of the preview. It was night to celebrate originality. (more…)
