To describe this collection using one word, it would be Nostalgic! Romeo Hunte brought back my teenage years with the doobie’s, construction boots and bamboo earrings which I was wearing the day of his presentation by the way. On Monday, fashionista’s flooded to Mimi Prober’s night-time fashion show. If you aren’t familiar with her, she is a New York based designer and Fashion Institute of Technology graduate. Her signature collection is handcrafted using recovered fragments of antique materials dating from the 18th to early 20th centuries which was noticeable throughout the short collection. She is best known for her embroidery and lace detail which I loved the most with her black pieces. It may be the spring collection but black never goes out of style. (more…)
