Winky Lux Comes to Lower East Side in NYC

Color cosmetics brand Winky Lux opened their first store at the beginning of the month and now they can call the lower east side of New York City their home. Launched two years ago,the high pigmented color cosmetics is super affordable which outside of the colors is the amazing part. The NYC store opening was bright and packed with beauty lovers trying out products and sipping cocktails.

The products are cruelty-free, paraben free, phtalate free and non-toxic which is why it’s my new Spotlight makeup brand for November. I was super excited to find a Matte Lip Velour in the gift bag when I got home in Smitten color which is such a great daytime Nude for an effortless look. Naturally Curly Presents The Curl Revolution

As a child of the 80’s, I grew up in a time where “perms” aka a relaxer for young black girls to get their hair straight. The conversation about being natural versus having a relaxer is a big topic amongst black women. Speaking on behalf of my partner and I we are both natural and deal with our own hair journeys everyday. Well now “The Curl Revolution” is upon us and not just black women have joined. Both genders and all ethnicities filled the Lightbox in New York City to meet Michelle Breyer, NaturallyCurly co-founder and author of The Curl Revolution:Inspiring Stories and Practical Advice from the Naturally Curly Community. Brett Johnson Opens Store in the Heart of Soho

Its Fall 2017 in New York City and Brett Johnson has finally opened its doors in the heart of Soho. Nestled on a cobble stone street, his menswear is now available at 109 Mercer St. Launched 4 years ago, his collection of luxury menswear is handcrafted in Florence, Italy. His use of exotic skins and fine Italian fabrics is displayed all throughout the two floor store. As the champagne flowed, bloggers and fashion connossieurs viewed the Fall 2017 collection amongst actor Jeremy L Carver, designer Armando Cabral and Bob Johnson, former CEO of BET Network and father of Brett. CARHARTT WIP STORE LAFAYETTE ST NYC

Carhartt Work In Progress (Carhartt WIP) forms a division of the American brand Carhartt and is one of the first company’s to pioneer workwear in the US. This Spring, the brand held a grand opening for its new New York City location that happens to be right around the corner from its original location in Soho.
