As a child of the 80’s, I grew up in a time where “perms” aka a relaxer for young black girls to get their hair straight. The conversation about being natural versus having a relaxer is a big topic amongst black women. Speaking on behalf of my partner and I we are both natural and deal with our own hair journeys everyday. Well now “The Curl Revolution” is upon us and not just black women have joined. Both genders and all ethnicities filled the Lightbox in New York City to meet Michelle Breyer, NaturallyCurly co-founder and author of The Curl Revolution:Inspiring Stories and Practical Advice from the Naturally Curly Community. Also see some of the cool products I received!
Before natural hair blogs and influencers, before YouTube and Facebook, there was NaturallyCurly.com. In The Curl Revolution, Michelle Breyer captures the entire curl landscape pulling from the two decade history of the site as well as from experts, influencers and community members who share their inspirational stories.
