Known for intricate shows, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel took the Paris fashion week runway to the restaurant. Previous shows had models in the supermarchè, then there was the model protest and now the brassiere. Guest watched the presentation as they downed cappuccinos and champagne and nibbled appetizers delivered by models dressed as waiters in a makeshift “Brasserie Gabrielle” as designer Karl Lagerfeld unveiled a collection that featured plaids, parkas, sheer dresses and purses in the shape of dinner plates (daily news).
New York fashion week had some notable mentions as well like, Moncler. The brand made a splash in 2007-08 for the colorful bubbles jackets that were worn by celebrities, bloggers and consumers. They have not been as popular since but I believe with their recent fashion show it will be once again.
This collection would’ve been perfect for this pass winter as it was very hard to look good with temperatures reaching 10 degrees and below. Check it out.
Then there is Thom Browne. The show seemed to be in an eerie dream-like state. Check it out to see what I mean.
There you have it some of the presentations I enjoyed from New York fashion week and Paris fashion week. Yes it is about the clothes but the presentations are getting better and better. You have to have a creative mind to produce these types of shows.
